Governor Gary Locke cut the ribbon for the grand opening of Huamei Oil and Fat Co., Ltd in Shantou

In June 2007, APIC purchased a bankrupt enterprise that was inoperative for over two years: Shantou Zhongxing Oil and Fat Co., Ltd. After the acquisition from a Shantou bank, APIC quickly assembled a management team that successfully restored the factory and assembly lines to a high-level operation. The factory, now called Guangdong Huamei Oil and Fat Co., Ltd. started operation in June 2008.

Former Washington governor and current Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke was the honorable VIP for the grand opening ceremony.

Madam Anna Chan Chennault was the honorable consultant and visited the facility during construction.

Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski wrote a letter to congratulate the successful operation of the plant.

Since opening, the factory has already been importing over 40,000 MT of soybeans from US and South America each month. At full-capacity operation, Huamei is expected to consume over 50,000 MT of soybeans per month, becoming the soybean oil and feed power house of South China.
